How many Knives do you have?

The Gyuto is the Japanese equivalent of the Western chef's knife, preferred by professional chefs for its versatility and practicality — slicing meat, dicing vegetables, and mincing aromatics.

Made by Minamoto, the house brand of Yasuda Cutlery in Seki City (established 1957), this Gyuto is built from 33-layer VG10 Damascus steel — sharp, rust-resistant, and chip-resistant thanks to its stickiness. The black Pakkawood handle is beautifully finished to match the blade's craftsmanship. Slightly lighter than a Western chef's knife of the same size, it's a well-balanced, all-purpose choice.

Best for: All-purpose chef's-knife work — slicing meat, dicing vegetables, and mincing aromatics.

Not for: Frozen food or bones — the thin edge is built for finesse, not heavy impact.
